CELEBRATE WORLD WILDLIFE DAY ON 3RD MARCH WITH US – WIN PRIZES!

On 20 December 2013, the Sixty-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly decided to proclaim 3 March, the day of the adoption of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), as World Wildlife Day.

“Wildlife now has its own special day on the United Nations calendar. On the 3rd of March we will for the first time ever celebrate World Wildlife Day”. said, John E. Scanlon, Secretary-General of CITES. CITES regulates international trade in over 35,000 species of plants and animals, including their products and derivatives, ensuring their survival in the wild with benefits for the livelihoods of local people and the global environment.
Indian Botanists Blog-o-Journal requests all individuals to observe and raise awareness of World Wildlife Day in an appropriate manner, in accordance with national priorities, as per the resolution of  United Nations General Assembly.
We invite students, research scholars, scientists, citizens across the nation to celebrate the first World Wildlife Day with us. Submit your photos, videos, essay, write-up, poems etc. on the theme-
“World Wildlife Day and Plants”.
